Hotel Bathroom Cleaning. Simplified.

The Secret of Clean Hotel Bathrooms is Out!

Impeccable interiors, soothing ambiance, and endless relaxation — This is what hotel bathrooms are known for!

Apart from the fragrance of an unoccupied room and the picturesque views from the room’s window, one feature of a hotel room that is a guest’s delight is the hotel bathroom. All guests expect a hotel bathroom to be free from spills and stains.

As a guest feels delighted to see the clean countertop, a hotel manager can’t help dreading the bathroom cleaning process.

But what if we tell you that we have the SECRET to a clean and hygienic hotel bathroom?

Diversey, through its Prosumer Solutions range, has introduced a range of professional cleaning solutions for hotel bathrooms.

Let’s dive in right away into hotel bathroom cleaning practices and understand how Diversey could be your partner in wowing your hotel guest!

The basics, first

What is your main objective when cleaning a hotel bathroom?

  • To make sure all surfaces, fixtures, and objects are spotlessly clean.

  • To avoid the hotel bathroom being a source of potential health hazard.

To achieve both the above objectives, the cleaning staff must follow the below precautions:
  • Wear protective gloves.
  • Use different cleaning cloths and brushes to avoid the spread of germs.
  • Demarcate cleaning cloths, preferably using color codes.
  • Avoid using the equipment for hotel bathroom cleaning elsewhere.

Now that we are through with the basics, let’s go through the simplified cleaning process.

The Bathroom Cleaning Process
  1. Start by collecting all used towels left in the bathroom.
  2. Clear out any trash.
  3. Wipe down all bathroom fixtures and fittings, using Crew Bathroom Cleaner and Descaler. It is a scientifically formulated cleaner for fittings, bathroom walls, sinks, tubs and tiles. This bathroom cleaning solution works well even in hard water conditions.
Bear in mind to clean and sanitize all fittings — Hand basin, taps, mirror, shower head, doorknobs, and other fixtures. To avoid accidentally missing out on any of these areas, consider using a directional approach.
Start from a point in the bathroom and move either in a clockwise or an anticlockwise direction, eventually arriving at the point where you started.
  4. Use Crew Bathroom Cleaner and Descaler regularly to prevent scale deposition on walls and fittings. Spray this cleaning solution onto the tiles and leave it to stand for about five-ten minutes. Use a stiff brush, if necessary to scrub the tiles. Here too, clean in a pre-decided fashion. You could start from the tiles on top and progressively go downwards, or vice versa. Follow the same cleaning procedure for the bathtub, the sink, and the shower floor.
  5. When cleaning toilets, use a specific product, such as Crew Toilet Bowl Cleaner. It is specially formulated to remove stubborn stains and eradicate limescale deposits. This cleaner has powerful stain removing properties.

To start cleaning the toilet, follow this sequence.

    • Remove all items away from the toilet bowl to avoid any splatter.
    • Flush the toilet.
    • Apply Crew Toilet Bowl Cleaner into the toilet bowl.
    • Let the inside of the toilet bowl soak for some time while you work on the exterior part.
    • Clean the flush handle and the toilet cistern with Crew Bathroom Cleaner and Descaler. Next, wipe them with a cleaning cloth.
    • Repeat this process for the toilet lid as well as the outside surface of the toilet bowl.
    • Use a tough brush to scrub any grime, especially the nooks of the S-bend of the toilet.
    • For the toilet seat, apply Crew Bathroom Cleaner and Descaler on both sides, and wipe it down.
    • When returning to clean the inside of the bowl, scrub the interior of the toilet bowl. Start from the rim at the top and then move downwards.
    • Finally, flush the toilet.

To clean stubborn spots, build-ups, scale, scuff marks, rubber marks and soap scum, you need a specialised cleanser, such as Crew Multi Surface Crème Cleanser.

You could use it on porcelain, ceramic, stainless steel, chrome, formica and fiberglass. Crew Multi Surface Crème Cleanser rinses freely and leaves behind a pleasant scent.

  1. Finish with the bathroom floor. Scrub it with Crew Disinfectant Floor Cleaner. This floor cleaner concentrate is safe for use on marble and granite. It kills 99.9% pathogenic bacteria, removes stubborn stains, and can be used even with hard water. It is devoid of abrasives or bleach and leaves behind a refreshing fragrance after cleaning. Crew Disinfectant Floor Cleaner is available in three fragrances — Floral, Citrus and Neem. In the end, mop the floor dry.
